I’m living life, longing to meet God at the halfway point. I’m a lover of Indian philosophy, Hinduism, Sufism, Kashmir Shaivism, and the Vaishnava Rasikas. My favorite Sufi poets are Hafiz, and Kahlil Gibran. My academic interests are linguistics, Asian religions, and mythology. I like to watch mythological serials on Hindi TV. I lived in Japan for a year. I spend a lot of my time enjoying the forest, tracking the Beloved and hoping the Beloved will catch me unaware.
If you met me, you would never guess that I write Sufi poetry. I look like a young American woman. I am so normal. I get caught up in myself, I get caught up in time, I get caught up in paperwork or groceries or to-do lists. You never know the movements of soul in a person by looking at them. I express things a thousand times better in writing than in words. I write these poems to remember God.
I do not subscribe to one religion. I like Sufism and Hinduism. I am not affiliated with IKSCON/Hare Krishnas, and I never have been.
