The voice of God is
as quiet and gentle as the sunrise at dawn,
when the sky is still purple, melting into golden pink.
Become quiet enough to hear
the voice of God.
He doesn’t pester.
He is gentle.
God is all around.
He is all right here, never lording over.
His voice is gentle, a brief caressing breeze.
He is like the gleaming dust particles in the sun.
Become slow so you can see him.
Become quiet inside so you can hear him.
(He only bangs on your door
when the choices you haven’t made
are fastlaneing you to your heart’s death.
I pray we never get there.
When he shouts for you to bring you back,
he runs you off cliffs, crashes you into trees,
and t-bones your car.)
Don’t make God wail for you–
because he will risk your life to save your Heart.
Become quiet now
so you can hear his
soft, gentle, always-here voice.
